ORTHOLIGHT® is an extra-light seating system in six standard sizes for patients who are unable to assume or maintain a sitting position independently and are only very inactive. It is made individually according to body measurements. The aluminum seat shell comes with standard upholstery or optional custom upholstery. With a large selection of standardized accessories, ORTHOLIGHT® can be adapted to specific requirements.
Product details
The passive ORTHOLIGHT® seating system consists of an aluminum seat shell whose seat and backrest are connected by a hinge. Manual, infinitely variable backrest angle adjustment is available as an option. ORTHOLIGHT® can be combined with all interco underframes. The seat and back unit can be anatomically shaped according to body shape and are fitted with a multi-part removable upholstery in a standard or customized version.
The individual upholstered elements are covered separately with breathable fabric. The removable, washable upholstery covers ensure optimum hygiene, long durability and easy replacement in the event of developmental changes.
We offer a wide range of accessories to adapt to the patient’s limitations and level of activity. These include fixation aids, padding and support aids for the head, torso, pelvis, arms, legs and feet. A large selection of colours for upholstery fabrics and paintwork also allows individualization of the design.
Safe transportation in the car
The product combination ORTHOLIGHT® seating system with SIMPLY LIGHT® base frame in conjunction with a power node system has been successfully tested in accordance with ISO 7176-19 and ISO 10542-2. This makes it suitable for transporting patients in a vehicle in conjunction with a power knot system if the vehicle is equipped with an appropriate attachment device.

The ORTHOLIGHT® seating system is currently in the process of being registered in the list of medical aids of the GKV Spitzenverband (central interest group of the statutory health and long-term care insurance funds in Germany).
The assumption of costs is not excluded. If indicated, we have had good to very good experience with many of the leading health insurance companies.

ORTHOLIGHT® seating aids are suitable for patients who find it difficult to sit in a sitting position, who are physiologically impaired or who are unable to do so due to anatomical changes. This can be caused by functional deficits in the interaction of the pelvis and spine, which are caused either by a congenital or acquired deformity of the supporting apparatus (e.g. bony joint structures) or by congenital or acquired insufficiencies of the musculoskeletal system, the pelvis and/or the spine.
